Strawberry Shortcake Night!  In addition to fine music and expert calling, we will feast on just-picked strawberries, homemade shortcakes & real whipped cream.  The music will feature Molly’s violin, Mark’s flute, and Eastman School student Austin on guitar).

We’re lucky to have a rich community of Syracuse callers and musicians nearby, and tonight we’re tapping it for both skills.  Eileen’s passionate violin style and Laurel’s oboe and whistles fit beautifully with Pat’s piano accompaniment.  Local dancers love Carmen’s choice of dances and patient teaching style.

Sunday, May 7, 2017 - Jane Austen Ball Weekend

These events are at the Ball venue (location sent to registrants).  You must be pre-registered – no tickets available at the door.

8:30 – 9:30 AM: continental breakfast.

10:00 AM—noon: Ball dance review.

Noon – 1 PM: elegant buffet lunch

2:00—5:30 PM: the Ball, with sumptuous refreshments mid-way.

6:00 PM: informal dinner at a local restaurant.

Saturday, May 6, 2017 - Jane Austen Ball Weekend

Band:  Rebecca McCallum, Eileen Kalfass & Jane Knoeck

3:00—5:30 PM: Ball practice for all led by our dancing master, followed by a potluck dinner (all welcome; food contributions encouraged but not necessary).

6:30 – 9:30 PM: Experienced English dance. An evening of challenging but rewarding dances and old favorites, not limited to the Regency period.  Solid familiarity with English country dancing assumed.

Both events at First Baptist; you can pay at the door and do not have to be registered for the Ball.

Sunday, April 30, 2017 - English Dance & Ball Prep

Very occasionally we have a dance on a 5th Sunday, and this is one of those times! We’ll have exceedingly good music from Eileen & Jane on violin and piano, and a great selection of dances from Richard.  Preceded by Ball prep, 3:30 – 5:30 PM, with live music (by Jane & Eileen), and followed by a potluck dinner.  Make a day of it!

Sunday, April 23, 2017 - English Dance & Ball Prep

This fine violin, flute, and piano trio plays regularly for our English dances, and we always seem to have a lot of fun when Bob calls. Preceded by Ball prep, 3:30 – 5:30 PM and a potluck dinner.
